Besides setting the standards for both performance and style in Liquid Crystal Televisions, the AQUOS line offers more distinct advantages: They’re incredibly thin. They’re exceptionally light. They’re astonishingly bright. Amazingly long-lasting. And there’s no “burn-in,” the condition where a still image can become a permanent part of the panel after an extended period of time. The advantages continue. Exceptional brightness means vivid pictures—even when the AQUOS is placed in brightly lit rooms or near windows. Similarly, a high contrast ratio allows superb detail and color purity even during very dark or very bright scenes. And an outstanding 60,000 hour lamp life and low power consumption translate into exceptional efficiency.
An extremely wide viewing angle—170° x 170°—lets you enjoy your AQUOS from anywhere in the room. Our proprietary ASV (Advanced Super View) high-performance LCD panel continues to be the most impressive in the industry, thanks in part to our exclusive Black TFT low-reflection coating which significantly reduces glare even under harsh lighting conditions.
AQUOS LCDs come equipped with a wide range of input/output jacks, including a D2 video input jack that supports progressive-scan (525p) video signal sources such as DVDs and digital BS (broadcast satellite) broadcasts, and a monitor output jack for connecting with audio equipment, making these units a key part of any A/V system.
The sleek, elegant AQUOS design is by world-class industrial designer Toshiyuki Kita, and takes full advantage of the slim profile and small footprint of the LCD TV. A built-in stand and Carrying Handle adds to convenience. Combined with the optional SmartLink wireless digital A/V transmission system, these units deliver “portable home viewing” that allows users to enjoy DVDs and TV broadcasts anywhere in the house, even in rooms without an antenna jack.
